COMPANY PROFILE-
Macdonald floor was established in 1995 predominantly as a small floorcovering contractor working from the garage at the founding director Brendan Macdonald's home in Melbourne's northern suburbs.

Opportunities quickly arrived to increase the company's turnover and the need to employ extra staff was evident, at that point Brendan decided the best way forward was employ apprentices to complement their growing base of subcontract installers and wage-based installers and purchase a small factory in Campbellfield vic.
Brendan's father Ronald worked for the company until the mid-2000's until his retirement leaving the industry after 40 years' worth of involvement leaving a huge amount of knowledge and experience as well , At this time with global financial crisis in its midst the commercial construction industry was as busy as it ever was with the building the education revolution roll out of school building throughout Australia and we certainly thrived in this time and we installed floorcoverings to over 40 new school buildings over the 2 year period that the programme was implemented and we employed new apprentices and engaged further subcontract and wage based installers installers and a bigger factory was bought to cater for the extra warehouse and office and supervision staff required to facilitate the extra turnover.

The company increased its turnover, staff, apprentices and installers until the mid-20 teens when like all companies at some point you hit a turning point,
Wage based employees were now simply not competitive, the company was not winning enough work and with the remainder of the industry that is predominantly sub contract installer based things would have to change or we would simply not be here today and change we did.
The founding director recognised the need to bring in young people into the company and the need for educated staff that would take the company forward along with the continual employment of apprentices would hold Macdonald floor in good stead for the future.
Macdonald floor now have 3 directors Mr Brendan Macdonald the founding director who now has over 36 years' experience in the commercial floorcovering industry, Mr Curtly Macdonald a qualified flooring installer and project manager (third generation in this industry) and Mr Liam Failla a tertiary qualified estimator.
FUTURE-
In 2018 the company moved to its current premises in Epping Victoria in a new and vibrant commercial business area central to access to the western ring road and northern hospital precinct.
The new premises is focused with our off site staff in mind and training for our apprentices and storage facilities.
Our current structure includes a financial controller, estimator, contract administrator, project managers and onsite supervisors/ installers, with this set up we are set up to manage our target area of projects from 50k to 2-3million.
The company has always employed apprentices and with that being said it is evident that this policy works as most of our sub contract installers are former apprentices and we see no reason for this to change in the future.
We actively tender for floor and wallcovering packages in the commercial construction industry were resilient floor and wallcoverings and carpet are installed with a focus on health, education, fitness and office fit outs

WoodCrete are a supplier to both the timber and concrete flooring markets. We are the exclusive agent for Fg Maschinenbau Floor Sanding machines from Germany. Woodcrete is the Victorian distributor for FRANK floor sanding machinery, which includes the Python 10″ belt sander and the Spider floor sander and buffer. Machines available for purchase or HIRE.
Our staff are fully qualified and trained in all your flooring needs.
